چکیده

Abstract Shifts in marine species distributions associated with climate change occur across large spatial areas and long time periods. Marine recreational fishing occurs most countries many participants interacting regularly the environment, yet there have been few studies on views of fishers towards change. This study aims to assess perceptions for a boat-based fishery Western Australia, where wide latitudinal range, from tropical temperate waters. Perceptions were assessed by fisher demographics behaviour. One two respondents noticed changes types distributions, metropolitan residents avid more likely notice these changes. Human Perceptions of Climate Change

This paper presents an interactive simulation of the effects of emissions and absorptions of anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere. The interactive simulation based on the “bathtub” metaphor, was built using the Dynamic Integrated Climate Economy model (DICE)-1992. The interactive tool allows participants to make decisions on the anthropogenic CO2 emissions, observe the consequen...

Human “Mis”- perceptions of Climate Change

This research improves our understanding of the Stock-Flow (SF) Failure, found to be a robust problem in the perception of accumulation (Cronin, Gonzalez, & Sterman, 2009). We demonstrate the SF Failure with an interactive simulation in a relevant climate change context (Dynamic Climate Change Simulator (DCCS). In DCCS the climate change problem was simplified to an accumulation (stock), CO2 co...

Climate Trends and Farmers' Perceptions of Climate Change in Zambia.

A number of studies use meteorological records to analyze climate trends and assess the impact of climate change on agricultural yields. While these provide quantitative evidence on climate trends and the likely effects thereof, they incorporate limited qualitative analysis of farmers' perceptions of climate change and/or variability. The present study builds on the quantitative methods used el...

American risk perceptions: is climate change dangerous?

Public risk perceptions can fundamentally compel or constrain political, economic, and social action to address particular risks. Public support or opposition to climate policies (e.g., treaties, regulations, taxes, subsidies) will be greatly influenced by public perceptions of the risks and dangers posed by global climate change. This article describes results from a national study (2003) that...

Engaging recreational fishers in management and conservation: global case studies.

Globally, the number of recreational fishers is sizeable and increasing in many countries. Associated with this trend is the potential for negative impacts on fish stocks through exploitation or management measures such as stocking and introduction of non-native fishes. Nevertheless, recreational fishers can be instrumental in successful fisheries conservation through active involvement in, or ...
